Another of his scans is now available, that being issue 32 of Official Australian Xbox Magazine

Next up is scans of issues 00 and 01 of PC Friendly, a fortnightly series of PC training (issues included a CD-ROM) for people new to computing.

Jason scanned a couple of non-computing titles in the shape of the October 2005 issue of Stuff (AUS) and the Britpop special of NME magazine.

January - March 1994 issues of PC Engine Fan are now available thanks to Hubz.

AralDite scanned The Little Audio CD Book but at nearly 300 pages I'm not sure how they classified it as "little".

Not new releases but CVG issues 228 - 232 have been added to the site. These scans from gladiator were washed out somewhat as is the case with scanning on older flatbed scanners so I have contrast/brightened them and uploaded as CBZ files instead of the original PDF format.

These are 3rd party rips (but not watermarked and of readable quality) and as the publisher only makes issues from #218 onwards available on their website I am comfortable adding them here as we are not depriving them of revenue.

Yeah, and I have 105 different (unwatermarked) issues ranging between 89-204.  I think Kiwi probably has all of them and more, though, but it doesn't hurt to check.

I have 173 - current issue thanks to Readly and a wonderful ripping tool called ReadlyFetcher. I also have 3rd party scans from 89 - aforementioned 173 but I have to go through them all and see if they are watermarked as I refuse to have mags that have been defaced in such a criminal manner.

You can probably tell by now that I HATE watermarks  :)

If you want to you can now finally replace the old crusty scan of CVG issue 60 with a newly minted version now that my family have headed back home to Blighty thus freeing me up to start scanning again.

AralDite submits issue 47 of Official Nintendo Magazine (AUS/NZ)

Sticking with Nintendo we have issue 102 of Nintendo Dream added to the download area. This is the last issue of this title received from GunyenTony so it's back to scanning his Dreamcast donations next.

Issue 60 of Official Nintendo Magazine (AUS/NZ) was to the be the final issue of this title. With the closure of the UK version I think that heralded the end of all Nintendo specific publications from major publishing companies which is weird given the volume of Nintendo consoles being sold, especially in the handheld space.

Thought I'd go back to my computing roots next so to speak with Amstrad Action issue 24 now scanned and available for those that remember or are interested in the CPC series of old.

Staying with my favorite 8-bit computer with issue 43 of The Amstrad User, an Australian publication for the CPC series making its first appearance here. Alas I only have two or three of these as the only other site with them doesn't make full issues available as they couldn't be bothered scanning advertising pages. Sigh!!

Does this ReadlyFetcher still work? I could not find it online, perhaps a abandoned project.

I believe it has been discontinued, possibly because Readly determined how people were getting required account settings for its use out of the browser source so changed the page to no longer make it visible, thus rendering it useless. Continues to work for Jason and I as we still have the required settings for our accounts  :)

All caught up now. Thanks for all the scanned magazines. I hope I can continue to contribute some useful scans.

Issues 21 - 30 of Gameroom Magazine have been added to the download area.

Pioneer Odyssey (NASA SP-349) has been added to the Book section. This was not scanned by me. I found it on a website (not IA but it might even be there) and I extracted the pages @ 600dpi, applied a small darkening script for better text readability, a found better front cover, added the missing rear cover and recompiled at 300dpi.

I love these books but they aren't cheap to come by and until I find a copy this is more than readable for those of us that are into this fascinating subject.

CVG issue 56 gets the scanning treatment next, replacing the really poor scan released by someone else eons ago.

We time travel back to 1984 next with CVG issue 37 now scanned and added to the site. Ahh!! The days of solo programmers creating great games for the 8-bit home computers, type-in listings and cassette tape loading. Glorious days indeed!!

PlayStation - The Official Australian PlayStation Magazine issue 06 is now available thanks to AralDite.

Thanks for the CVG's! The quality upgrade on previous releases is huge.

The previous releases were produced by Mort probably 20 years ago when scanners and software were nowhere near as capable of producing good scans as they are today. I know as I had a flatbed scanner back then and they were frankly pretty crap!! Additionally, I think he didn't want to destroy his mags hence their being raw scans. But he was pretty much the only person willing to scan hundreds of mags on a flatbed scanner. I sure didn't!! So for that we should all be extremely grateful as it probably helped push computer/gaming magazine scanning into the limelight. Prior to that most people scanned individual pages of mags and left out advertising content etc.

More issues are incoming!! Stay tuned!!  ;)

On a side note with CVG, there is a bunch of issues towards the end of the magazine's life that I could never find: issues 207-221, 224, 229, 231-234, and 273. Has anyone seen these available?

Some of those are at archive . org - Search for "computer video games 207" will get you #207, for example.  Quality is good.

gladiator scanned all of those except 221, 233 and 234. I have nothing after 246 of member scans but I do have third party scans for several issues including the aforementioned 273. As far as gladiator's scans go I just need to work out which ones can be added as-is and which ones need some editing work.

It's definitely on my todo list for sure.

3D Artist issues 11 - 15 are now available. I am moving away from PDF completely so these have been extracted at 600DPI from the PDf files after removing the publishers overlays to mask the issue barcode on the cover along with the production panel on the index page and watermarks (why did they even bother?) and recompiled into CBZ files

CVG issue 51 gets a new scan today.

I have every issue of PC Gamer (UK) up to the current issue. Issues from 207 onwards are available digitally from Future plc so cannot be made available at this time.

Pretty sure Kiwi is talking about PC Gamer, the final issue of which has yet to be printed, and you're talking about C&VG, for which digital editions don't exist to my knowledge.  Gotta get everyone on the same page.

Where can I find that program and is it easy to use? I myself have a Readly account for Dutch magazines.

There's not really much point providing it now as they realised how people were acquiring the authentication token so removed it, rendering it impossible to use. The only reason Jason and I can use it is because we already have the necessary token.
