Ring in the new month with Famitsu 1318. This issue had a couple of 3-page-wide spreads that would have played havok with a PDF reader in joined form, but since all of us here are using more intelligent CBR reader software, there won't be any problems, regardless of whether you use single or double page viewing. :)

ToyFare #8 is now available. This is one of the only mags I scan which I actually read. I've also got incentive to scan them because the unusually small print on these is brutal on my old man eyes, so reading the CBR is FAR easier than reading the print mag.

I've done a number of gate folds via Scan To PDF and never had an issue. Not about intelligence in picking CBR or PDF, it's about how you scan it. ;)
No, it's a problem with how Pdf readers are designed to display documents. They like to think of every page as equal, so if you have a single page next to a super long page of joined images (like an edited-together tri-fold), a Pdf viewer will display the single and triple page side-by-side when using two-page viewing mode, resulting in a 4-page-wide, difficult to read mess.
CBR viewers are designed with comics in mind where there are a mix of single and spread pages, so when they encounter a spread (be it 2,3,4 or however many pages,) they will display the spread separately, and not attached to any single pages before or after.

Okay that makes sense since I don't join pages of a tri-fold together when I scan especially since my scanner isn't A3.
Just in case anyone misses this I put some bookazines and cheat books up for auction. Maybe someone in the UK wants to buy them to scan?

I have come to the conclusion that I am never going to get everything online if I continue editing other members scans on top of trying to scan the 1500+ mags still in my basement gathering dust. To move things forward I am going to straighten cover scans and then upload other members scans as-is. That may mean that scans might be classed as raw scans. If anyone feels like downloading those magazines and editing them to resubmit cleaner versions that will help free up time for me to scan my collection. Don't worry though, anything uploaded as such will be perfectly readable as-is but I really do need to free up my time.
First up in this class are four Game Players Nintendo Guides scanned by AralDite.
(https://www.oldgamemags.com/forum/downloads/medium_1_22_06_23_5_55_37_0.jpeg) (https://www.oldgamemags.com/forum/downloads/medium_1_22_06_23_5_56_20_0.jpeg)

Next up are four of his scans of Official Australian Xbox Magazine.

LOL, I had no idea those Game Players were on the docket. I think I have those in my closet right now. Haven't scanned them because they aren't really a priority. But they're so tiny (less than 80 pages? LOL the Japanese mags I scan eat 4 of them for breakfast) I always figured I'd do them at some point when I felt like knocking out something super quick and easy. I still probably will, eventually. Not because there's anything wrong with the scans posted above (which I've not even seen), but just because I refuse to sell crap on eBay and I feel guilty just throwing stuff in the garbage, but if I scan them, I can throw them out guilt-free. I'll post them to archive regardless.
I wouldn't worry about people being dissatisfied with raw scans. Unlike comics, where any flaw in a scan like an unjoined spread will get the scanner absolutely EVISCERATED by the community, magazine downloaders don't seem to really give a %$#! what stuff looks like. They neither praise nor complain, regardless of the quality. So the only reason to make something look nice is if doing so is something you take pride in for your own sake.
I had no idea you were editing other people's scans, but yeah, you should absolutely stop doing that, since it's pretty hard to take pride in fixing someone else's handiwork. I like to make my own scans look nice, but it's an empty experience spending my precious time doing the same to someone else's scan.
Maybe one day there will be enough multiple scans of the same mags floating around the internets that the mag community will finally get organized like the comics community and start uniformly naming their files, complete with scanner name so that people can tell just by looking at the filename if they will be getting a carefully scanned and edited file from a dependable scanner or just a raw scan.
Yeah, I think I have 400 odd scans of Aral's on the NAS and I also have gladiator's CVG scans, all of which would be great to get uploaded so I can make inroads into my mag collection but all need some amount of editing.
It would be nice if people picked up some of the editing work but I'm thinking it's simply better to have them available rather than sitting on my NAS and thus unable to be worked on if someone does put their hand up to help out. If you can't download it you cant edit it!! :P

Famitsu 1316 is a rare issue of that mag that was squarebound as opposed to stapled. Why? I dunno. The mag itself is 260 or so pages, which is nothing unusual, and although the included supplement pushes the page count to over 300, it still isn't without precedent for a Famitsu of that length to be stapled. Maybe they just wanted it to look nice since it's the PS4 launch issue? These are the questions that keep scholars and philosophers alike awake at night.

Are you allowed to say what the magazines you have to scan are? Just for future reference so we're not scanning something you might have access to.

I've got a better idea. Go ahead and scan what you've got. If Kiwi DOES have access to anything you scan, well then he won't have to scan it, and that will free up some of his time to scan things that you DON'T have.
While it may well be the case that Kiwi owns some of the same mags as other scanners here, it's absurd to expect Kiwi to be the one to scan them every time.
As for the possibility of wasted duplication of effort, the odds of two people actually working on the same scan at the same time are incredibly slim, but if you're worried about it, that's what W.I.P. threads are for.
p.s. It occurred to me that your question could possibly have been worded incorrectly and what you meant to ask was if you could get a list of Araldite's scans which have already been submitted so that you don't duplicate any of that effort. That's NOT what was asked, but hopefully that's what was meant, since it's at least a legit, inoffensive request. I think it would be easier to just ask Kiwi if whatever mag you're planning to scan next has already been submitted, though, rather than have him type up a list of 400 issues.

The volumes 2000 to 2002 are not available in pdf with the exception of the first 2 issues from 2000.

Nice find. I've never read any of them, but back when I used to download everything under the sun I got all the issues from 2012 till its cancellation in 2015. I had no idea it had been around since the 90s.
I wish every publisher did this. It would sure make the lives of us scanners a hell of a lot easier by making scans unnecessary. Imagine, having the luxury of using your free time to do things you enjoy! Well, I can dream.
