Quote from: rygel on Jun 15, 2025, 10:23 PMThanks Gregorick for adding no. 4! Did anybody else notice hat despite issue 4 being listed as December 1999, the next number 5 was listed as January 1999? Did they forgot to change the year to 2000 on the cover?  ;D

To be fair, it always takes me a good month or two to start writing the new year on documents and such. ;D

I am with you ... on the other hand: if your fulltime job is to produce a magazine, you would expect that somebody of the editorial staff does some kind of proof checking ... at least looking at the cover for a quick check before it goes to print for thousands of copies. I have noticed a similar screw up of the cover date for a few other magazines around that era and I am always baffled how something so obvious got unnoticed. ;D

I can't help, but honestly, the only way it makes sense to even TRY figuring out which mag we're talking about is if it DEFINITELY had Timesplitters on the cover.  Because I'd be willing to bet every gaming mag being published at the time had a Timesplitters preview at some point.

Quote from: Gregorick on Jun 14, 2025, 06:56 PMThere's not much record of early P2, Engine and PSi2 issues so could potentially be that.

It wasn't on the first 27 issues of P2, first 3 issues of Engine, or first 15 issues of PSi2. Issue 16 of PSi2 has Timesplitters 2 on the cover.

It wasn't Play. Guess it could be one of the final issues of Total Station, or Max.

Feel like you are going to have to be a bit more specific as there are a lot of potential matches. Magazines at the time of TimeSplitters release that were PlayStation/PS2 specific:

- Official PS2 Magazine
- Play
- PSW
- PSM2
- Extreme PlayStation
- PlayStation Max
- P2
- PSi2
- Engine
- Planet PlayStation
- PlayNation
- PlayStation Power
- PlayStation Pro
- Total PlayStation

Of these Official PS2, PSM2, PSW, Extreme PlayStation, PlayNation, Power and Pro never had a TimeSplitters cover.

There's not much record of early P2, Engine and PSi2 issues so could potentially be that.

I have begun collating where reviews and previews for certain games are on my site and on the TimeSplitters section (https://www.ukgamesmags.com/games/timesplitters) there are currently three previews of the game listed in PSM2 issues 1 & 3 and Video Gamer issue 1 although this isn't a PlayStation specific magazine.

There was a mag I got yeeeeaaarrrs ago. It was either just before, or early in the PS2 life.
It had a preview of Timesplitters in it. I think it may have had Timesplitters on the cover too.

Thanks
