It was all about the UK mags in Oz, Australian mags back then were absolute crap in comparison.. at least prior to the mid 90s.
Mags I used to buy regularly were CVG, Zzap! 64, CU Amiga, Amiga Format, Amiga Power & Amiga Action.
CVG was the GOAT  ;D

I feel like EDGE #0 is an elusive copy. The only physical copy I've ever seen was a photo that the former EDGE art director uploaded to his own Twitter account. And that was just of the cover, I've never seen any of the internal pages.

Quote from: kitsunebi on Jan 03, 2026, 05:02 PMYeah, that's pretty much the holy grail of American gaming mag nostalgia.  It's the first mag most Americans seek out when they discover that the magazines of their youth can be downloaded online.  Dunno what the UK/AUS/NZ equivalent would be.  CVG #1? Someone enlighten me.

And this might be the first Nintendo Power here...but it won't be the last... ;)

For the UK, it was quite fragmented. Loads of mags knocking around. From what I remember in my own heyday in no order.

1. CVG
2. N64 Magazine
3. Official PlayStation Magazine
4. Official PlayStation 2 Magazine
5. GamesMaster (Linked to TV show of same name up to 1998)
6. GamesTM
7. Play (PS2 Magazine)

Great work as always kitsunebi!

No idea what the AUS equivalent for Nintendo Power #1 would be. Personally it would be Hyper #1 as that was my favourite mag growing up. Still can't believe the whole set is here to read through.

Now that family guests from Oz have returned to their homeland, I have a little more time on my hands to update the site and even do a little scanning so Antic issues 17 and 46 are now available ...
