General Discussion / Re: Are Retro Gamer downloads ...

That is correct.

If you haven't been keeping up with the news lately the Internet Archive got sued by the publishers a while ago and have now been forced/required to remove half a million books from their website after being convicted of wholesale copyright theft/infringement.

The English language version of Retro Gamer was also removed along with a lot of Future Publishing content a while ago due to a request by Future because every issue is currently available for purchase. It therefore makes no sense to place this website in their lawyers gunsights by making  any content currently available from the publishers themselves.

I got a weird error while trying to download some issues of the Retro Gamer magazine:

Quote"You are not allowed to download a file in this category".

Why is that? I can't find anything about Retro Gamer on the generic rules and I have no issues downloading any other issues from different magazines.

Thanks for your help!
Retro Gamer has been archived. It's not available for download as they still sell copies of those issues I believe.

Quote from: zaraned on Jun 13, 2024, 10:19 PMBadass Lara is best era. Modern era she's 'vulnerable' --- processing heavy emotional issues while still taking out entire armies of private security goons. And they go all in with the suffering, falling down cliffs, beaten up aspect. Replacing Desert Eagles with bow and arrow? Come on man. I completed all three of the 2010 games, they're still decent but I fear the peak has been reached.
One of the reasons I can't stand the reboot Tomb Raider games. The other being the gameplay. Unfortunately I feel Crystal Dynamics find everything about the game series that made the series a success 'problematic' which is why they're rebooting her again differently.  ::)

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here for a moment and say envy for Core Design. Maybe even old Crystal Dynamics. They couldn't produce a series with a fraction of the legacy of Tomb Raider even if someone held a Desert Eagle to their heads.
