Maybe a new computer chair will provide better back support?

All I can say is if you do get a new chair, do NOT get anything from SecretLabs.. they are like sitting on concrete and I suspect mine has made my back worse over the years.

It's weird that at work I seem to be "better" but that's because I stand for a LOT of my time at work and sitting is where it becomes really noticeable. Maybe a new computer chair will provide better back support? I don't know!! All I know is it becomes really uncomfortable when I sit for too long so site updates will come in bouts I think as I work to minimize the discomfit.

There are probably several types of spinal problems, but this might help.

I lifted something heavy with poor posture, and my back seized up several times. After that, I couldn't stand straight without pain for days. I was happy because it didn't hurt when I was sitting, but the pain came back with a vengeance when I stood up. This is the correct posture for heavy lifting:
