It looks like Game Informer is back and independent, too. The rights were bought by Neill Blomkamp's crypto NFT game studio, which is... interesting. But regardless, they say they have full independent and editorial control of the company so we'll see how it goes I suppose. You can get the last 10 years of GI magazines digitally by signing up.

Interesting! Glad to see print media surviving in this day and age. Anyone know if there is a way to rip the magazine archives from the new site?

Every single issue of Game Informer up to the end of 2015 is available at Retromags, but you'd better grab them ASAP, since before they shut down, GI was one of the very few mags that had made a request that scans of their mags not be shared.  Retromags only uploaded them after GI shut down (and even then, only up to the 10 year cutoff date they adhere to for any other mag), but now that GI is active again, all of those downloads may be coming down soon.

I have every issue of GI from Retromags safely stored on the NAS.

I just saw that, thinking of just subscribing to their digital as in last 3-4 years the quality of the paper these mags were printed on was poor and colors and contrast so bland compared to prior generations of issues.

Maybe I will do both print and digital again to see if they are better quality with new leadership.

Someone posted an image of the new GI front cover on Reddit that they said just arrived and said the paper was thicker than the old one and print quality much higher, so that's a positive sign.
