Pompeii - nowadays and 2000 years ago is now available. This is an ex-library book withdrawn and sold off and which I picked up. Somewhat out of date now given it was published in 1991 but it's still an interesting read even now...

Now I can't stop thinking I want to visit it! It surprised me to see they had "victims" in display... I wonder if they are removed nowadays.

I went a few years ago and they are still there. It's an incredible place and so well preserved. I was surprised how big it is actually.
