It's a trip reading all the stuff back from the 90s/00s from the UK in particular. Gaming was in the process of going mainstream with the PS1 onwards and it seems like an anything goes attitude with experimentation and an almost rock star/punk vibe you don't see nowadays since everything is so streamlined and corporate.

The humour can be a bit wacky or offbeat and juvenile but that's all part of the fun. Gen Z younger
demographics have Twitch but it's not the same. Do Twitch streamers play it safe? I never got into it. Maybe  I'm having a nostalgia overdose and need to see a nurse.

Yes indeed there were loads. I got into them just before the millennium but I was fairly young and they were expensive so I didn't buy them every month. Leafed through loads of them in the corner of the main newsagent shop. Along with the car/Max Power mags. Good times. I was content with far less back then.

I still have a fair number of them to scan. Not just gaming ones either.

Well lads,

I was reading PC Format Issue 79,Feb 98 today and there is a feature 'Visions of the Future' on what tech will be like in 2023. It's a fun read. Self driving cars in 2019? I mean it's kind of there? All in one entertainment boxes with TV, video recorder, hi fi games console etc together. That's pretty much there.

Lots of other things brought up in that article.
