They were so close, damn.  :-[

Kiwi

Took time out in the weekend to celebrate my birthday which, considering the visit from the Grim Reaper the week before, seemed like it was worth celebrating all things considered.

gater and Jason bring us Go>PLAY issues 08 and 12. Golly ... is that Dave Bautista on the cover of issue 12? And with hair?

Kiwi

More incoming Commodore goodness from gater and Jason today with three more issues of Commodore Computing International added to the download area.

Kiwi

The Wonder Book of the Army has been scanned and added to the book section. This volume is circa 1954 shortly after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. I was fortunate in my younger days to meet a gentleman who was member of the New Zealand LRDG. Their exploits in WWII are detailed in this book.

Kiwi

Jason scans and submits two issues of Australian Commodore & Amiga Review ...

Kiwi

Micro User #99 is now available.

Kiwi

#10
gater scanned Total 64 #34 and it is now available in the download area. Yes, you read that right! Turns out there's a bit of a back story on how a magazine that was discontinued with issue 31 saw another three issues released. Jason or gater can explain it far better than me so I'll leave it to them to illuminate ...

Kiwi

Also incoming from gater and Jason are two issues of Your Sinclair, Future's competitor to Newsfield's Sinclair User. I have plenty of the latter and none of the former so these are a welcome addition indeed...

Kiwi

Next up from Jason we have the premiere issue of Professional Amiga User ...

As far as we all knew, Total 64/Total N64 magazine ended at issue #31. A couple of weeks ago, the editor at the time it closed (Jonathan Austin) found in his attic a print of the cover for issue #32, which he said was completed but never printed since the publisher, Rapide, shut down suddenly. A couple of days later, I stumbled on this on eBay - issue #34! It even had a sticker from an Australian newsagent on the cover, so it was sold at retail at some point.

Jonathan thinks that the infamous Hugh Gollner bought up the IP in a fire sale and must have got the work files for the unpublished issue, and made this cut-up version of it to flog off for a quick buck. He knew he had done a cut-up of older issues (I guess that was #33??) but had no idea this unseen stuff got out there.

Another theory from someone else who worked at Rapide was that stuff was stolen when the bailiffs came in and repossessed everything in the office on the chaotic final day, and this was a pirated mag!

It's an intriguing mystery, but either way this is a heretofore undiscovered issue with content that has never been seen before.

This is crazy and everything about that cover seems rushed and weird (I have never seen that game referred to as just Owen WLS). Can't wait to have a look through the issue.
